Munmun Dutta, best known as Babita Ji from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmaah, was interrogated recently in connection with the Casteist slur used in the video last year. Last summer, Munmun was under fire after he used slur in one of his YouTube videos. While the actress had issued an apology at that time, a FIR was submitted against her in Hissar, Haryana.
On Monday, the Dainik Bhaskar report stated that Munmun was interrogated at the Hansana Police Station in Haryana. He appeared before an investigative officer, DSP Vinod Shankar, according to the order provided by Punjab and Haryana High Court. The report added that Munmun was questioned for four hours. He was later released with a guarantee. Munmun had previously submitted an anticipatory bail application on January 28 but was rejected by a special court established under SC / ST Act in Hisar.
Last year, after he was slammed because he used slur, Munmun issued an apology. He blamed the ‘language barrier’ to his ignorance. In a statement issued on the Instagram account, Munmun said, “This refers to the video I posted yesterday where in one word used by me was misinterpreted. Never said with the intention to insult, intimidate, embarrass, or hurt feelings anybody Because of my language constraints, I really misinformation about the meaning of the word. Once I realized it would mean I immediately took part. I really respect everyone from every caste, credo or gender and recognize their extraordinary contribution to the community or the nation We. He concluded, “I sincerely want to apologize to everyone who accidentally injured by the use of the Word and sincerely sorry for the same thing,” he added. The apology did not go down well with parts of social media users.
