Users can hide their WhatsApp status updates from certain contacts or show them to the selected contact only. This application provides several privacy settings for users to control the information they share with other people on the platform. For example, users can hide the status ‘last look’ on WhatsApp. Likewise, someone can also prevent access to profile images and about parts. If the user does not want to enjoy a conversation with someone, they can directly block contacts on WhatsApp.

Apart from this, the recent application announced its long-awaited community features, which would allow several groups to gather. Along with the community, WhatsApp also revealed the data limit of a 2GB of large files. If everything goes according to the plan, it will release all these features for ordinary users in the coming months.

WhatsApp status allows users to share photos, videos, or even GIFs that disappear after 24 hours, such as Instagram stories. The user status is only seen when the user issues the status and that is being seen in the list of contacts respectively. In this way, the platform ensures that whatever content user shares because the status is only shared with known people. However, users might want to hide their WhatsApp status updates from certain contacts on their devices in certain circumstances.

Change Status Privacy To Hide Updates

To change the audience of their WhatsApp status, the user must change the privacy settings. First, the user must open the status tab from the Home screen. Users can do this by sliding to the left on the screen (Android) or clicking on the status in the lower left corner of the screen (iOS). Then, Android users must tap the three-point menu at the top of the screen and choose ‘Privacy status.’ For iPhone users, the ‘privacy’ option is located in the upper left corner. After the user is on the menu, they will see three options – ‘my contact,’ ‘my contact except’ and ‘just share with.’ Choosing ‘My Contact’ will share status updates with all saved users contacts.

If the user wants to hide the update of their WhatsApp status from certain contacts, they must choose ‘my contact except’ and mark the contact in the menu that appears. The third and final options, ‘just share with,’ share status updates with certain contacts. Users can tap the option and choose contacts in the following menu.
