Snapchat announced on Monday to provide features for the first time such as cats and video calls on the desktop via a new web application.Snapchat for the web is a new way for “our community to stay connected via our camera when they are in their computers,” the company said in a statement.To start, the web platform will be available exclusively for Snapchat plus subscribers in the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada and Snapchatters in Australia and New Zealand.
“We are looking forward to bringing it to our entire world community soon,” said the platform, which has nearly 332 million users.Snapchat for the web will only be compatible with the Google Chrome browser and not on Apple’s safari during the launch. “With more than 100 million snapchatters using our vocation and our video calls each month, we are delighted to offer a new way for our community to keep the conversations in progress on their computers,” said Snap, the parent company of Snapchat.
Snapchat for the web includes the main messaging features such as cat reactions and cat response, as well as objectives that take place soon.The Snapchat social media platform announced last month that its Snapchat Plus, a collection of exclusive, experimental and pre-liberated features, is available for $ 3.99 per month.
It is available in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia and water. Snapchat will broaden more functionality in more countries over time.
