Xiaomi launched the first Redmi phone with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 today, which also offers an impressive screen. Speaking of the screen, there is also a new Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro with a larger 12.4 screen.
Xiaomi Redmi K50 Ultra
Redmi K50 Ultra is like a mixture of K50 Pro and K50 games, but better than them in some ways. This is the first Redmi phone that features a new Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, only following the new 12S flagship and Mix Fold 2 is stable Xiaomi.
The chipset is attached to a steam space measuring 3,725mm² which promises to keep the chip cool even after more than 2 hours playing games. And more importantly, it can maintain almost 120fps after all that. But we will get to the screen, because now just say the chipset is paired with 8/12GB LPDDR5 RAM (6,400Mbps) and storage 128/256/512GB from UFS 3.1.
AMOLED screen measuring 6.67 “according to his siblings. However, this is a rare 12-bit panel, which can make 68.7 billion colors. In comparison, the K50 game has a 10-bit panel (1,080 x 2,400px) and K50 Pro has an 8-bit panel (1,440 x 3,220px). The screen has a perfect color calibration (Deltae around 0.38) and remains like that with the surrounding color temperature sensor. Vision HDR10+ and Dolby are supported.
Resolution is between FHD+ and QHD+, 1,220 x 2,712px, which works up to 446ppi. According to Xiaomi, this display looks almost as good as the QHD+panel, but uses less power. Some of the more statistics mentioned: Refresh rate 120Hz, the rate of sampling of 480Hz touch and 1,920Hz high frequency PWM reduction. One of the last interesting news about the screen is that the default fingerprint reader can also measure your heartbeat.
Redmi K50 Ultra borrowed a power system from the 5,000 mAh K50 Pro-Paragi which offers a fast charging 120W thanks to the P1 Chip In-house surge. According to the official number, this battery is good to last for a day (thanks to a new chipset and an efficient appearance).
The camera is very similar to Pro. This starred in the main sensor of 108MP with OIS, specifically the 1/1.67 “HM6 sensor with a 0.64 μm original pixel, which can be combined (9-to-1) to 1.92μm effective pixels. This camera has a combination lens with 1 glass and 5 plastic elements that allow through more light and bright f/1.6 aperture for boot.
Also on the back is a fairly basic Ultra 8MP camera and 2MP macro lenses, a selfie camera on the front has a 20MP sensor (IMX596). This is a 5G phone with Wi-Fi 6E connectivity and there are NFC and Blaster IR on the board. Stereo speakers have Dolby Atmos support, while cables (more than USB-C) and wireless output to headphones have Hi-res audio signs.
